Yeast Infections - Natural Remedies
Medical science does not have medicines that can wipe out yeast infections at their root. However, there is are natural remedies for yeast infections. These are proved better than medicines and comparatively they come very light on your purse as well. Most of these natural remedies are found around the home and others can easily be purchased from your local drug store or natural food shop.
Teatree oil is one good natural medicine for yeast infection. easily found in natural markets. Teatree oil is an Italian natural remedy for yeast infection. Teatree oil is best used directly in the vagina in the affected area. And the process is easy too. You can first lubricate the top part of tampon and pour a few drops of pure teatree oil in it. The idea of lubricating the tampon is just to save teatree oil from being absorbed into the tampon itself. Now place the tampon with teatree oil in your vagina. This will help a lot.
Another good natural remedy for yeast infection is boric acid. It is good for killing roaches but is even better for the treatment of yeast infections. Keep at least 2 capsules of boric acid, about 600 mg, in your vagina every night for a week. Continue this treatment of keeping boric acid capsules at least twice a week for next three weeks. You may get slight burning and pretty good vaginal discharge during the period. But do not worry, eventually it'll go away and will also your yeast infection. You should however always consult a qualified doctor before starting treatment.
Another well known old natural remedy for yeast infection is gentian violet. You should wipe all the infected area with this along with the vulva and up into your vagina a couple of times a day. You'll have to continue this for couple of days. Gentian violet is a bright purple color and leaves a good stain in clothes so you might want to wear dark clothes and even use sanitary napkins during treatment.
Being natural, it should not have been the case, yet still you should test yourself for allergy before you start any of the natural treatments. Some cases have been reported of allergies after using natural remedies, so it better to get prepared beforehand and test for allergy before use and best consult your doctor first.
Whatever way of treatment you choose, it is important that you do not leave the yeast infection untreated. In some cases, the infection might just go away in a couple of days but other may increase to bring up a fatal disease. However, it is important to remember that even if the yeast infection sometimes goes away on its own, it is just covered up temporarily and the yeast infection is not actually gone. Menstrual cycles are a good example. Blood flow increases the pH level in the vagina during menstrual. And only because the yeast cells cannot grow in high pH environment, the problems cease during the period. But this does not mean the infection is cured, it is just a temporary relief.

Nevertheless, it does occur, especially in chronic yeast infections. One such medical condition that may develop as a result of an untreated yeast infection is a blood condition called sepsis. There are also chances of getting into vulvocaginal candidiasis if the yeast infection is left untreated. This mostly happens to women who have more frequent recurrence of yeast infection, about three or more time in a year.
